Blue Fox Vibrax spinners for trophy spring white bass!
Posted on June 5th, 2014
We had a great time targeting tasty spring white bass in the Detroit River, ON by casting the Blue Fox Vibrax Spinners along the current breaks and watching several white bass chase and try to strike our spinners literally on every cast!

To get good casting distance and a deeper running depth with the Vibrax spinners we fished medium-light Shift & Aeris spinning rods and medium-size Rapala spinning reels loaded with Sufix 832 braid and a 20″ Sufix Fluorocarbon leader. The white bass should be plentiful in our in-shore Lake Ontario & Lake Erie waters at least until the middle of June. These fish are plentiful, excellent sport on light gear and they are very good to eat!!

Along with big white bass, chunky white perch also commonly feed with the white bass. White perch look similar to white bass, but are more gold in color and lack the dark stripes displayed on white bass. Both species of fish are excellent eating and very plentiful once they converge on in-shore Great Lakes waters!
