Our good friend Andrew Yeung decided to take a 1,200km road adventure in search of some native Lake Superior tributary Brook Trout. He was not dissapointed. He stopped and fished many of the larger streams and rivers that flow into the east and north shore of Lake Superior often taking thick treed back-trails to get to some of the best spots.
The northern streams are clear, cold and pristine and not to mention offer some of the best wilderness Brook Trout fishing you can access by driving.
Andrew did well casting 1/4 oz spoons and fishing them in the faster deeper runs and also in the deeper pools. He fished his spoons as close to the bottom as possible without getting snagged.
Spinners reeled in slowly with the current also produced it’s share of fish.
When you see how crystal clear the water is and feel how fresh the air is, you definitely realize the fish are a bonus!!
