Big River Steelhead epoxy-head streamers.
Posted on April 4th, 2018Bill Selby has been chasing steehead in the tributaries and out in Lake Ontario for the last 4-decades. A few years ago he got the “bug” (no pun intended), to start tying steelhead tributary flies. I like to think I had something to do with it since I discovered how well jig-flies work for steelhead and trout in both the smaller and larger Lake Ontario tributaries.
Bill has tied very effective nymph patters, but his latest specialty has been tying big-river streamers.
I talked with Bill and told him some of the details I find work very in the Steelhead/Trout flies I use in the Niagara River.
Bill took it to heart and started tying all these patterns that resemble everything form Dace to Smelt, to Emerald Shiners.
They all look great! Bill, when is my order ready?
