[nggallery id=664]My wife Barbara, our dog Mulligan & I fished Upper NY today and Barbara landed a trophy rainbow trout fishing a 1/6 oz. jig-fly about 3′ under a slip-bobber rig. She used the Rapala Magnum 13′ Drift Rod with a Rapala spinning reel and Sufix 8lb. test Tritanium Line/Sufix 6 lb. test fluorocarbon leader.
The water was stained and the flow slow, but Barbara worked the current breaks behind large boulders in the middle of Eighteen Mile Creek to land her fish. Our dog Mulligan watched the fight and even helped Barbara wade downstream safely by going ahead of her so she could tell how deep the water was before I could land her fish.
We are looking forward to mild temperatures again tomorrow and we are planning on starting he New Year off right by, you got it……going fishing!
