Beautiful fall leaf-color and fresh-run steelhead!
Posted on October 14th, 2015The weather is still mild, water temperatures relatively warm and the leaves are turning some amazing colors this weekend.
Some steelhead are already making their way up Lake Ontario tributaries but most anglers are focusing on the Chinooks that have come in. A good strategy is to concentrate on the lower section of tributaries fishing the deeper pools. These runs may be slower flowing, but holding some steelhead that are just waiting for the water to cool-off more and to rise from cold fall rains! Fresh salmon egg roe-bags are the best bait used with a float drifting presenation.
