BC tributary Steelhead & more.

Posted on August 18th, 2018

Feature image of another beautiful Skeena River Steelhead, landed by Francisco from Spain. He was a guest of Tracey John Hittel of Kitimat Lodge, BC.

Noel Gyger reports. Mostly sunny with highs to +20 degrees Celsius.  Skeena River is in fair fishable shape even with this hot weather and I have reports lots of Steelhead are being caught. Tyee Test Fishery showing a record run of Steelhead this season. WOW – this is good news ♥ ♥ ♥  Kalum River Steeelhead fishing is over. Do not target Chinook. Kitimat River is in good shape. I have reports lots of Pink and Chum coming in now. New reg, a person may now retain one Chinook per day BUT is must be under 80cm. Zymoetz (Copper) River is dirty. Ocean fishing for Salmon (New reg for Douglas Channel, Chinook limit is one per day), Halibut, Prawn, Dungness and Alaska King Crab is good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.

If you would like to book a river fishing guide or ocean charter for 2018-19 you can contact Noel at, www.noelgyger.ca .
