BC Steelhead & Coho update.

Noel Gyger reports. I got a chance to spend some time with Italo Labignan, host Canadian Sportfishing TV show and the crew as they were filming on the rivers catching & releasing trophy fish.

In Italo’s words, “Just finished shooting a dynamic TV show landing trophy Coho and Steelhead with Tracey Hittel of Kitimat Lodge. The bonus was spending time with good friend Noel Gyger on the water and talking about the good old days. We definitely experienced world class fishing

Here are the most recent conditions and fishing report. Light rain with temperature around +7 degrees Celsius. DFO Notice: Coho fishing closed on all rivers October 31. Kalum River Steelhead are in the river now and more coming every day! Please do not target Coho, most are dark and in spawning colours. All should be released gently. Note: Kalum has 4 runs of Steelhead, fall, winter, spring and summer. Skeena River in fair shape and fall Steelhead are still being caught. Zymoetz (Copper) River ~ Steelhead are moving in (just need good water conditions).   Kitimat River when in good shape will be fishing well for Trout. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn and Crab good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
