BC Steelhead, Coho & Sockeye action.

Posted on September 22nd, 2016

Noel Gyger reports. Light rain with highs to +13 degrees Celsius. Kalum River Steelhead are in the river now and more coming every day!. Note: Kalum has 4 runs of Steelhead, fall, winter, spring and summer. Coho will be entering the Kalum soon. WOW ~ then you will have a chance to catch both Steelhead and Coho on the same day!

GET READY to catch lots of these Skeena River Sockeye Salmon. Fisheries and Oceans Canada is predicting an average to above average Sockeye run this year. Looking at the Sockeye numbers so far, even though it's a little early, they are only a little less compared to last year. The rumour is that this year's run of Sockeye, will have larger fish on average.

Skeena River in good shape and fishing good for Steelhead, Sockeye and Coho. Zymoetz (Copper) River ~ Steelhead are moving in (just need good water conditions). Kitimat River in good shape and Coho are in. Coho are entering the Kasiks, Exchamsiks and Exstew rivers now. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn and Crab good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
