BC Sockeye Salmon are running.

Posted on July 21st, 2016

Noel Gyger reports. Chance of a shower with highs to +27 degrees Celsius. Kalum River fishing well for Steelhead and Chinook. Steelhead are spawning so please be very careful handling them. Skeena River in good shape and Chinook and Sockeye are moving up river now. Zymoetz (Copper) River is clean enough to fish. Lakelse River Bridge is starting to fish for Chinook.

GET READY to catch lots of these Skeena River Sockeye Salmon. Fisheries and Oceans Canada is predicting an average to above average Sockeye run this year. Looking at the Sockeye numbers so far, even though it's a little early, they are only a little less compared to last year. The rumour is that this year's run of Sockeye, will have larger fish on average.
