Feature image shows the perfect “keep em’wet” image of a colorful male BC tributary steelhead.

Noel Gyger reports. Sunny with highs to +30 degrees Celsius. Current regs from DFO for Skeena River system as of May 9th. Do NOT target any Salmon, if you accidently catch a Salmon please let them go…and please “keep them wet”. Here is the link to the latest regs: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/fresh-douce/region6-eng.html . Skeena River has started to come up due to extreme hot weather. We are losing good fishing conditions. Kalum River Steeelhead fishing is over. Do not target Chinook. Kitimat River is in good shape. New reg, a person may now retain one Chinook per day BUT is must be under 80cm. Zymoetz (Copper) River is dirty. Ocean fishing for Salmon (New reg for Douglas Channel, Chinook limit is one per day), Halibut, Prawn, Dungness and Alaska King Crab is good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
