Bay of Quinte Topwater Largemouth Bass.

gabor_horvat_graphicGabor Horvat reports: I remember your write-up in Italos Blog about a month or two ago, when you recounted the time you did not catch any fish and needed to encourage yourself and have a faith to catch a fish. Now I can understand that moment. I felt the same way down on the Bay of Quinte. The weather was perfect, cooler mornings, sunny 24C during the day.  We tried cranking from the Telegraph Narrows down all the way to Adolphus Reach.  After casting all day, trying the Rapala TD9 and change & trying many lures for walleye, we decided to change out tactics and target bass. We quickly discovered that we could get largemouth bass to hit buzz-baits. From my experience, it looks like the walleye fishing is still a bit early; I will wait few more weeks until they move into the Bay in higher numbers to head back down. A few boats were there trolling but we did not see any of them to catch. Next time will be better.
