Amberjack’s, Gulf of Mexico wrecks, Fl.
Posted on January 4th, 2016I love to fish for a variety of fish when I am spending time in southwest Florida. One of my favorite off-shore Gulf fish to target in the winter is the amberjack.
These fish love to feed around underwater “pinnacles”, or over submerged wrecks. They are very aggressive feeding fish and can’t resist a live, struggling baitfish. Yesterday I had the pleasure of fishing with the Murray’s and we had one blue runner baitfish in our bait-well. After catching a variety of snapper, porgy’s and grunts, we headed to an off-shore wreck in about 60′ of water & within seconds of “free-lining” the blue runner Jordan hooked and landed this beautiful fish.
