Amberjacks, Gulf of Mexico, Fl.

Posted on May 11th, 2017

Sometimes amazing things happen when you fish the open-waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Fl. On a recent trip with good friend Scottie Martin host of Walleye Wednesdays on social media, we were fishing live-bait on the surface targeting King Mackerel when all of a sudden we were surrounded by some very hungry and good size fish.

They turned out to be Amberjacks that were free-swimming in the water column and feeding very heavily.

This was Scottie’s first experience hooking these amazing fish and he had a great time catching and releasing fish after fish! Amberjacks are sleek fish that feed aggressively in schools and fight hard constantly swimming towards the depths.
