After the steelhead, the run of the humble sucker!!
Posted on May 7th, 2016You know the spring steelhead season is slowly winding down when there are few around and plenty of suckers.
Many European anglers actually target suckers from clean waters because thy are fun to catch, they grow to pretty good size, they can be found concentrated in pools, and if you like eating fish, they taste good.
Fishing for them is simple, just a worm on a hook, enough weight to keep the worm on the bottom and a sensitive rod-tip to register when one gently picks up the worm…no “hit-and-run-hits” with these fish!
