A young boy’s joy of catching his 1st Largemouth Bass on a fly rod!
Posted on July 5th, 2010My son and I had the opportunity of fishing Lower Buckhorn Lake, in Buckhorn ON yesterday afternoon. This was only the second time my eleven year old was using a fly fishing rod & reel kit (that he recently received as a gift). He hooked and landed a decent largemouth bass 
, using a yellow coloured “dry fly”. I think I can safely say my son will eagerly continue to use his new fly fishing gear well into the future. It should be noted that although his technique for casting the flies he was using would best be described as unconventional it didn’t interfere with the sheer joy he was experiencing watching his fly move in the current and seeing fish come up and strike his presentation!
