Hi Don…East wind means changing conditions and most often movement of a “cold-front”. This can make fish, including walleye inactive. Best techniques to use are slow presentation line jigs/bait, jigs/plastic grubs and slow-trolling spinners/worm and worm-harnesses close to the bottom….God bless you, Italo

Hi Phat…Walleye can be caught there throughout the year, virtually in any weather conditions from hot weather to cold, ice-fishing conditions. The key is that the weather stays consistent for at least 3-days before you head out, and that the river conditions are normal (not high & turbid from heavy rainfalll). Low presssure (mild/overcast/rain), is better than high pressure (cool/clear skies). Consistent weather. I would suggest you use these pointers no matter what time of the year you are planning on heading out there…God bless you, Italo
