Category: antique lures

Dear Italo, I have been fishing for a long long time and I cannot find my favorite crankbait lure anymore … seeking your help. It was made by Heddon, originaly made out of wood, then plastic. It reminded me of a pike from the front … the rest was just a round piece of wood (or plastic) with 2 hooks. I also cannot remember what it was called. Would pay the right price to get my hand on a 6 pack of them …lol Would you know what they could be called ? Thank you and God bless

Hi Guy…I will need a few more details of it\’s action, whether it was a top-water, sub-surface or deep-diver and whether it had a diving lip, or just a concave carved head to enable it to dive below the surface top try and figure out what it was called.  If it had a diving lip and a beveled-head it may have been a River Runt, or Jointed River Runt.  You can find these on Ebay, both the original wooden lures and the more modern plastic versions.  www.luckystrikebaitworks.com , makes a Rattlin\’Wiggler that is the same design as the old Heddon River Runt….God bless you, Italo
