Twitching Husky Jerk for Kawartha Walleye.

Posted on May 25th, 2017

With clear, high-water conditions in the Kawartha Lakes, anglers targeting Walleye will do well fishing the open-water weed flats by twitching a Rapala Husky Jerk #12 or #14 so that it’s “slashing” right on the tips of the submerged weeds.

Post-spawn walleye are already in their summer pattern feeding over large weed flats, on weedlines and especially shallow at night along rocky shorelines.

Twenty pound test Sufix 832 line fished with a 10 lb. test Sufix fluorocarbon leader is a good combination to get the best action from your “twitches” and also to get the most effective hook-sets!
