I have had the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Walleye Wednesday, Scottie Martin in southwest Florida for a variety of gamefish.
Flats fishing is very popular in the inter-coastal waterways and also the large saltwater bays throughout Florida. I wanted to make sure Scottie had first-hand experience catching a very popular flats-fish, the Spotted Sea Trout.
These fish are very plentiful, but to catch a keeper takes a little location knowledge and knowing which tide to fish and also what presentation to use. Scottie caught on very quickly landing 2-nice trout over 18″. Hi caught his fish using Rapala lightweight spinning outfits loaded with Sufix 832 braided line and a minnow imitating lure, either a Rapala, or a Lunker City soft-plastic.
