Hi Italo, Where do you recomend fishing for spring/ summer jumbo perch from shore in Lake Simcoe. ThanksPosted on February 23rd, 2017
Hi Matthew, tough to find good shore fishing spots on Simcoe where you can have consistent action for keeper perch. Best spots I can suggest is either the rock breaker-wall that goes out from Virginia Beach, ON on the east-side of the ferry, or the rocks at the mouth of the Talbot River, near Beaverton, ON. When the perch are running you have to get there early because it does get crowded. You can fish live minnows, but some of the largest jumbo perch are caught on small jigheads and short plastic grubs. One of my favorite is the 2 1/2″ Lunker City Fin-S-Fish fished on a 1/8 or 1/16 oz Fin-S-Fish jighead. Just fish it along the bottom.
