Hi Italo, After watching your program on Wickwemikong rainbow trout fishing over and over,my wife and I made it up here this week 12 hours from the state of New York.We fished today in 15-20 ft of water with #7 original rapalas, but found nothing. It didn’t look like anyone else was catching anything either. On your show you said they would go deeper as time went on .Should I move out deeper and fish deeper or just fish deeper at the same 15-20 ft I’m in now? Thanks,I love fishing in Ontario and watching your shows make me want to be up here all the more.

Thank you for your kind words. This spring things are late, water is cold and I am sure the rainbows there are shallower than normal. I would suggest that if you are fishing right in Wikwemikong, ON try fishing in the vicinity of the aquaculture operation and close to shore, trolling and also casting lures right into 4′ of water. Also contact Luc Wassegijig at, lwassegijig@wikydevcom.ca . He was our guide when we filmed there and he may also suggest you launch at a different location and fish some of the shallow bays where you will feel like you are fishing for pike, but will hook rainbows. Hope you have a wonderful trip and catch rainbows…God bless you.
