A couple of neat looking fish that don’t grow large in Florida’s Gulf waters are the Squirrel Fish also called a “sand perch”, and the Black Seabass.
The Squirrel fish lives & feeds predominantly over a sand bottom and is a an aggressive fish that takes any cut-bait and shrimp.
The Black Seabass on the other hand likes a “sticky-bottom” that has structure and coral. These fish are also easily caught fishing cut-bait. Both may be small, but they look beautiful and are excellent eating!
